Learn how to play the guitar with Derek Samuel Reese. An introduction to music

I started taking music lessons at a very young age, I’ve toured the world, recorded in many professional studios and I’ve performed professionally for more than forty years.

I am also a songwriter and I play multiple instruments.

My love for teaching began in summer of 2000.

I started taking music lessons at a very young age, I’ve toured the world, recorded in many professional studios and I’ve performed professionally for more than forty years.

I am also a songwriter and I play multiple instruments.

My love for teaching began in summer of 2000.

Every music instructor has their own way of teaching.

There are many different styles and methods to teaching music.

The most important step for any student above all else is to be consistent, which means taking a lesson once a week. If you can not make the time for your lesson and to do homework then you will be starting from the beginning every time.

My students range from five years old to fifty years old, beginners to very advanced.

There are some students that want to learn how to play lead guitar and others who want to expand their chordal knowledge and students who are brand new.

An important aspect of my curriculum is to focus on ear training. Anyone can learn to read music, it is a system, but developing your ear will give you far greater results in becoming a great musician.

To give back to my students, as you grow and learn music I offer recording your progress by creating musical recordings to share with your family.

I have a beautiful recording studio where we can make our own music together.

I look foreword in helping you learn music, it is truly a gift.
